Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Two stories about kitties:
1. We have been through a couple of cats this year at our new home. We have learned the hard way that this is not a safe environment to allow kitties outdoors. One orange beautiful cat we adopted from humane society was originally named pumpkin but renamed tiger. He had gone from being so frightened of us that he would hide under the bed at our arrival home to becoming our lap cat. A few weeks before Dorothy was born I saw an orange cat on the side of the road. Yes, it had happened, despite Eric reminding me consistently how unsafe it was out there for our kitty. Eric arrived home after dark and head out to te road to bury tiger. The next morning I drive past the same spot and there was…an orange cat by the road. Apparently Eric had gone left instead of right (my sleepy haze directions were likely pretty vague) and had buried an entirely different orange cat.
2. Another cat that escaped us had begun returning to our home on a daily basis! Mau was our first escapee when I had her trapped on the screened porch when bombing our house for fleas. She escaped and we hadnt seen her in months. We began seeing her occasionally and noticed her growing larger. Days after we lost orange kitty mau showed up at our porch skinny and starving. We concluded she had kittens and she began showing up at our house on a daily, sometimes twice daily basis.
Last week she arrived with three 5 week old kittens! We now have a kitty nursery!
