There are times when we're far removed from our loved ones. Join us during our journey in love, family, baby, travels, and everything in-between. ”MilitarySpouseBlogs”

I’ve finally connected my [recently shattered] phone to the computer. Because I was having problems with the tumblr app I’ve now got the opportunity to catch you all up to speed on our lives. How exciting, eh?!

To start with, when we received all of our goods that were in storage (by way of my mom and sister driving a uhaul 12 hours to us) we received Eric’s mother’s grill.

And, like any self-respecting American man*, he got himself a’grilling.

I will leave out the incident that I will refer to as “first time propane purchaser-gee this is light.”

*I mean no offense to any one who identifies themselves as male, American, or self-respecting if you are not “into grilling.” Etc, etc, etc.

Yes!!!

I am very excited! Today my mom and sister are coming to visit. They are bringing a Uhaul of a bunch of things Eric and I had waiting for us in storage in Indianapolis. Most importantly, our washer/dryer. Thats right, we’ve not had a washer/dryer in almost 6months. And let me tell you, its not been pretty.

This has been an ongoing battle because, understandably, our families in Indianapolis are busy and have their own lives. But we hadn’t had an opportunity to go to Indianapolis and drive back to NC with all of our items!  But the need for our stuff increased once I found out I was pregnant. All of my maternity clothes and Helena’s clothes (pre-6months) and toys were in there. I needed to get those soon because I don’t know when I’ll need maternity clothes this time. I have heard you show a lot sooner in the second pregnancy.

I’m also really excited to get dressers (yep, our clothes have basically been in piles in the closet), the grill, patio furniture (although not to be used for much longer) and Christmas decorations. I had actual panic that I wouldn’t have Christmas decorations when the holiday season approached.

Speaking of the holidays, we’ve received the current “leave dates” for Eric and I’m very excited to spend 2 weeks in Indianapolis with family and friends. And possibly more excited for Indianapolis comforts like Bub’s Cafe for brunch, Yat’s cajun food, the Carmel and Westfield Goodwill (for Helena clothes), Skyline (which I have never really craved before) and basically other food establishments. Can someone say pregnant?!

Here’s a series of photos for Helena’s 7 month. Appropriate since she’s becoming more independently minded.  It should be noted that Helena is finishing up her 8month right now.

Food!

Part of being in Italia is the amazing food available to us. In the past month we have consumed:

-Daily cappucino

-Brioche (croissant), occasionally filled with chocolate, cream, hazelnut (and chocolate), ricotta, etc.

-Gnocchi of various assortments (salmon, pesto, pumpkin w/ prosciutto and truffle, etc)

-Pizzas (veggie w/ anchovies, salmon, ricotta and spinach, eggplant, zucchini, eggplant and sausage, and more)

-Hot chocolate (practically hot fudge in a glass. pure chocolate. heated)

-mini cakes, tarts, and pastries (particularly for a friend’s bday)

-lasagna made by my landlord

-lots of seafood, including seafood risotto, salmon, swordfish

-a pasta (the name escapes me) with duck liver.

And many many more. Perhaps I should just take photos of the food we eat and post that. It might be more interesting than seeing our faces in fun places!
