Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
So Helena is on the mend. She’s still has a runny nose and gross cough but she’s playing again and eating regular foods again. (For a couple days there it was just blueberries, etc).
But as expected, Eric and I both came down with it. Now who has it worse:
Eric, who has to go do pt in the morning (which can range from running 5mi to a martial arts to lifting at the gym) or me, 33 weeks pregnant minding a toddler.
Actually, at this very moment, I’m doing okay. Its not recommended for me to take NSAIDs(ibuprofen, etc) so Eric chose not to as well.
But we have survived our first major child sickness, complete with an ER visit and tylenol supposatories. Isn’t parenthood fascinating? ;)
This photo is a tad old but we have a variety from our trip to the pumpkin patch. Helena was so happy to be surrounded by all the “balls.” While I wasn’t paying attention she removed a tiny one from the vine that she decided to take home.
edit: I chose this photo out of many from iPhoto while squinting to see what was the best representation of that day. Now that its published I see she has a stinky face. This face was her frustration at her many attempts to pick up these heavy pumpkins. Thus, the baby pumpkin off the vine.
Should Helena be a
-Roasted Marshmellow
(stuffed white onesie, brown pants, felt flames around the pants, stick held by parents to poke her)
OR
-Peacock
(onesie with hotglued peacock feathers on butt, tights)
Headed to the craft store soon….
Shoes in action!
Cutest flipping bubble bath in the world.
Typically the Army just tells you to “deal” when it comes to missing holiday or other special occasions. Eric was away on a training in the woods and, by the grace of…superior officer, he was given Fourth of July. He got home earlier than expect, late morning of the 3rd and drove all day to Outer Banks to visit four of my uncles and their kids (my mom has many brothers and a sister). It was the first time Eric had met this side of the family and it was the first time Helena had met them as well. It was sooo much fun.
We left Outer Banks at 10pm and drove the 4.5 hours to get back home. Eric had to report to work at 4:30am. But it was worth it. :) -t
ps. you’ll notice eric’s black eye. That was a work related injury. :)
Here’s a series of photos for Helena’s 7 month. Appropriate since she’s becoming more independently minded. It should be noted that Helena is finishing up her 8month right now.
Back in Indiana! Helena is visiting with Aunt Jama.
Helena turns 6months today.
She’s sick and snotty, weepy and tired.
And we’ve lost our single car key. With the carseat locked in the car.
Lets hope she feels better soon!
